What could be better than watching WVU football on the big screen while drinking your favorite brew with your buddies? How about the knowledge that you’re helping homeless women and families while you do it!
Bring your pals and cheer on the Mountaineers during the WVU vs. Colorado game at the 3rd Annual Guys Night Out. Enjoy hot food fresh off the grill, beer provided exclusively by Proud Eagle Inc., wine, fine Altadis USA cigars provided by Tobacco Express, great raffle prizes, corn hole and other fun games – all while spending a perfect September evening taking in the great view overlooking Charleston.
The Sept. 18 outdoor event’s pre-game party begins at 6:30 pm at the McJunkin Red Man headquarters on Hillcrest Drive in Charleston. The WVU game will begin at 8:30 pm on 8 big-screen TVs provided by Big Sandy Superstore. Individual tickets ($100 each) are 75% tax-deductible and are available online at www.ywcacharleston.org, by calling 340-3553, at the YWCA on Quarrier Street, or at the event. Attendees must be 21 to drink, and C&H Taxi will provide free cab rides home.
Led by Paul Buechler and Jeff Sandridge, this all-volunteer committee raised $24,000 for the YWCA Sojourner’s Shelter for Homeless Women and Families last year. This year, their goal is $30,000. Help the Guys Night Out committee empower individuals to become self-sufficient by joining us at this event – and tell your fathers, sons, brothers, coworkers, friends, and neighbors about it too! With your help, YWCA Sojourner’s can continue to work to eliminate homelessness and provide tools for self-sufficiency through shelter, education, counseling and other direct services.
